We purchased our first printer, a MakerGear M-Series, in late 2016. While reliable and durable the printer was loud and slow. Also, the software of that era wasn’t particularly user friendly. We used it sparingly.
In mid 2023, we purchased a Bambu Lab X1C with AMS. What a difference 7 years makes! The Bambu is fast, quiet and, generally, reliable. The print mechanism does seem a bit fragile and we’ve had to fix the AMS more than once. Having said that, we are happy enough with the printer to have purchased a P1S with AMS.
That’s the background. Why launch a company? A commercial venture provides an opportunity for me to work with my kids on a fixed project in a real world setting. They are learning entrepreneurship, project management and business management to name a skills. Sure, I could teach them all those topics but a company makes it real because there are external expectations. Thus, Parallex Prints was born.
